This articles is related to Nissan/Infinity/Datsun (sometimes even Renault) cars, that were made from 2002-2008 and has no CAN support.
1. Problem description.
If you have a Nissan/Infinity/Datsun or Renault and you:
- can’t connect to your car,
- or connection is established successfully, but Car Scanner shows you only “ELM voltage”
2. Why doest it happen.
Nissan/Infinity/Datsun cars, that has no CAN support, added formal support of OBDII protocol just to read DTC codes, without support of reading live data values.
Car Scaner can connect to this cars using proprietary protocol Nissan Consult II.
All you need to do is go to Settings – Connection.
Set ECU initialization mode to “Use default“.
Set ECU protocol to “Nissan Consult II”
That’s all! Now you can connect to your Nissan/Infinity/Datsun or Renault.
PS. Nissan Consult II protocol requires good ELM327 adapter with full command set support. Some cheap Chineese clones can’t connect using Nissan Consult II.
